Android Devices
Anti-Virus
Powerful and easy to use, protects your smartphone from viruses, spywares and malicious applications that can make the phone unusable and/or may lead to data loss. Defenx runs invisibly in the background, scanning and protecting your device. However, after installation we recommend that you conduct a manual scan of your device.
Open the Defenx app and Press Virus Scanner.
Press the “Start Scanning” button to begin the process.
Defenx will scan your device and any attached storage units for malicious software. The results of the scan will be displayed at the end of the process.
If malware is found, don’t worry! Press the red image next to each item listed by Defenx to remove the item permanently or move to quarantine the selected item.

Defenx Antitheft is also able to provide the current location of the device via the Web Portal, providing a possible means of recovering it. The anti-theft feature works only if the device GPS function is active. Of course Defenx recommends you seek the help of your local police in case of theft. Once you have set up Anti-Theft on your device, you’ve got some great options. Follow the steps below:
- Go to http://portal.defenx.com/login and log into Web Portal from any Internet-connected computer or device (use your email address and password you used to register Defenx.)

Note: You do need to have Google Play Services installed/updated for pre-3.0 devices
Froyo and Gingerbread registration is implemented in Google Services Framework, using the Google account for registration. This has resulted in a lot of errors for people where the account was not in a good state.
Starting with ICS, GCM doesn't depend or uses the Google account - you can use it before you add an account or without any accounts.
In general terms, Android specifies: It uses an existing connection for Google services. For pre-3.0 devices, this requires users to set up their Google account on their mobile devices. A Google account is not a requirement on devices running Android 4.0.4 or higher. Install/update Google Play Services for pre-3.0 versions.
